Dennis J. Fiedler, 80 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln. He was born on December 14, 1943 in Beatrice to Fred and Olive (Gaede) Fiedler, the youngest of four brothers. After his mother's death when he was 18 months old, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Ben and Ruth Fiedler. Dennis graduated from Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1962. There he met and married Sharon Socolofsky on June 5, 1965. They had two daughters, Debra and Pamela. Dennis had worked for Phillips Fertilizer Plant (now Koch) for over 35 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Beatrice. Dennis was a master carpenter who could fix most anything and enjoyed fishing, putting puzzles together, volunteering at Traubels Popcorn Stand, watching Clint Eastwood and westerns, Sharon's cherry pie and especially his family.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon; daughters: Debra and Pamela of Beatrice; three grandchildren: Christopher Harrison, Stephanie Harrison, Dawson Fiedler; and one great-grandchild, Ligaya Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt and uncle: Ben and Ruth Fiedler; and three brothers: Durwood, Lavern and Jerry.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1 PM Monday, October 21, 2024 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Pastor Jeff Collins officiating. A reception will follow at the First Christian Church in Beatrice. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the mortuary.
