Denver hits average November snowfall 8 days in
DENVER ( KDVR ) — Just over a week into November, Denver has already surpassed the average snowfall for the month.
According to the National Weather Service , Denver usually gets 7.4 inches on average in November. However, snow in November varies drastically.
In some years, like 2021, Denver only saw trace amounts of snow in November. However, during one of the snowiest Novembers in history in 1991, the city saw as much as 29.6 inches — almost 3 feet of snowfall.
Denver weather: What to expect as snow falls through end of week
While the city usually sees less than a foot of snowfall all month, Denver is already ahead this year as the city recorded 9 inches as of Friday morning, and the snowstorm isn't over yet.
During the Wednesday storm, Denver recorded around half a foot of snow within 24 hours , which continued into Thursday afternoon. The Pinpoint Weather team expects more snow on Friday night, with the heaviest falling into Saturday morning.

By the end of the storm on Saturday, the Pinpoint Weather team expects over a foot of snow along the Palmer Divide. If Denver receives over a foot of snow by the weekend, the month will go down in history as one of the snowiest Novembers.

Within the top 20 snowiest Novembers, the totals range from 14.2 inches to 42.6 inches. If Denver collects a few more inches by Saturday, it could be within the top 15 snowiest Novembers on record.
