ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Anna Maria Island was slammed by both Hurricane Milton and Helene, leading to significant damage across the island.

The storms caused major devastation, as many homes and buildings were left cluttered with debris and wreckage.

The Rod Reel Pier was one of those structures.

A seafood restaurant once located off of a long pier on North Shore Drive is no longer.

After Helene, the building was still standing, with destruction to the pier.

But after Milton came and went, the entire building has vanished.

The drone video shows the aftermath, and what's left of Rod Reel Pier. Little pieces of wood and the sign are the only remnants of the restaurant.

Several Bradenton Beach residents expressed their stress and frustration from the past several weeks, saying they've only ever had to evacuate from their home once in the last 30 years.

"Everything inside is destroyed," resident Tom Logue said.

But the past two hurricanes have changed everything for them.

"We said we would stay once if it happened again we're out," Robin Logue said.

"We packed our world up and brought it down here," Tom added. "So this is all we have left."
