Fall heat forecast to shoot 18 degrees above normal in Portland Tuesday

PORTLAND, Ore. ( ) — Temperatures will hit a high of roughly 92 degrees on Tuesday, surpassing the average daily high for this time of year by 18 degrees.

KOIN 6 Meteorologist Kelley Bayern reports that Tuesday's high will come within four degrees of tying an all-time daily high. Monday will also be hotter than normal with an anticipated high of 82 degrees.

"Mother Nature is not quite sure what season we're in," Bayern said. "Expect temps to spike into the 80s and low 90s on Monday and Tuesday as a strong but brief ridge of high pressure builds and a push of easterly winds arrive."

The unseasonable temperatures are expected to drop back into the 70s on Wednesday as Poland could see as much as 0.25 inches of rain.
