Fire damages area laundromat

JAMESTOWN — Investigators are seeking the cause of a fire that damaged a laundromat in Jamestown.

The fire was reported at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wash Tub on W. Main Street near the intersection with Penny Road at the Jamestown-High Point border.

No one was reported injured, said Battalion Chief Mason James with the Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they saw flames inside the building, James said. Firefighters brought the fire under control within several minutes.

The fire is under investigation by Guilford County Fire Marshals Office. An estimate on damages wasn't available on Monday.

Two engine companies, a rescue unit and battalion chief responded from Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department. The High Point Fire Department provided mutual aid to the Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department.
