Firearm Found After Driver Fights With Bristol Twp. Police The Bristol Township Police Department said a driver was pulled over Monday afternoon in the parking lot of the Wawa in Croydon​.

—A vehicle stop led to a foot chase and a struggle before the driver was brought into custody Monday afternoon, police said.

The Bristol Township Police Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the parking lot of the Wawa in Croydon around 2:14 p.m. Monday, said Sgt. Jason Mancuso, the police department's public information officer.

Police officers began to speak with the driver and discovered narcotics.

The driver —who was not identified —fled on foot from the officers, police said.

Officers were able to stop the individual and a brief struggle ensued.

A firearm was recovered from the individual that ran, police said.

The individual was able to be safely taken into custody and there was no threat to the community, Mancuso said.
