Chase McMonagle made up for some poor throws in the first half with some huge ones in the third quarter, throwing a pair of long touchdown passes to spark Fleetwood to a 28-0 nonleague victory over visiting Kennard-Dale Saturday.

After a scoreless first half, the junior threw for 217 third-quarter yards, with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Davyan Moore and a 94-yarder to Tristin McFarland.

McMonagle, in only his second start, completed 14-of-25 passes for 312 yards; he threw for 211 yards last week in a 31-23 loss to Garden Spot.

McFarland, who matched a program record for longest scoring reception, finished with seven catches for 185 yards — second-most in program history.

Jason Petion, who ran for 128 yards on 11 carries, broke the scoreless tie with an 18-yard run 2:30 into the second half.

The outmanned Rams (2-4) lost their fourth straight game and were shut out for the second time this season.

The Tigers (3-3) scored on each of their first three second-half possessions to make it 21-0.

McFarland's second TD catch, from 3 yards out, ended the scoring with 4:07 remaining.

McMonagle became just the fifth Fleetwood passer to top 300 yards; Jack Riffle set the record last year with 415 yards in the Eastern Conference Class 4A championship game against Shamokin.

Mason Musitano set the program record with 206 receiving yards in that same game.
