HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A unique circus has been floating its way down the Ohio River for weeks and on Monday night, it landed on the Henderson riverfront.

The Flotsam River Circus held their 100th performance Monday night.

For 5 years, the group of musicians, circus performers and puppeteers have traveled thousands of miles on the nation's rivers holding free shows for spectators.

Organizer Jason Webley says their first tour was in 2019 and wanted the Ohio River to be part of the next one. He was scouting locations for the 2024 tour earlier this year.

"I think different people will watch the show and take different things from it," says Webley. "I think some people would see the show and think that is a bunch of different circus tricks and people acting weird. I think its about some people on a boat and a strange visitor arrives and interesting things happen."

Webley hopes this show will shift the audience's idea of what is possible in life.
