Forecast: Coolest afternoon since January arrives tomorrow

C.Wright3 months ago

Our community will be in line for a big blast of cooler air over the next several days as a cold front moves away from our area.

You’ll start to notice the temperature change as early as tonight. After the sun goes down, temperatures will fall fairly quickly, eventually dropping all the way into the middle 50s by tomorrow morning. Expect a morning low of 56 degrees in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

The forecast on Tuesday calls for a rare, unseasonably cool day in our area, with highs only peaking in the upper 60s. With a high of just 68 degrees tomorrow afternoon, it’ll likely end up as the coolest afternoon we’ve had since January of 2023!

The coolest temperatures of this week’s cool snap happen on Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. That’s when areas like Fort Myers and Cape Coral will slip to around 51 degrees. When the cities are this cold, inland areas tend to drop into the mid and upper 40s, so make sure you’re bundled up (Florida-style) when you head to work Wednesday morning.

It should be noted that despite the cool weather this week, our community does not have any frost or hard freeze concerns. Outdoor plants should be fine through this week’s weather.

Warmer temperatures will be returning to our area by the end of the week. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will all have mid-day highs into the middle 80s, with nighttime lows only dropping into the upper 60s and low 70s.
