Fort Myers woman accused of assault, stealing a car from Page Field Airport
A Fort Myers woman was arrested after being accused of assaulting a person before stealing a car from Page Field Airport on Saturday.
Katherine Olshefski, 39, is facing multiple charges after the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested her on Saturday.
Deputies responded to Brantley Road in Fort Myers for reports of a female getting into another person's car and taking their prescription medication by force.
The caller told deputies that earlier in the day, he and Olshefski got into a physical dispute where Olshefski allegedly slapped him in the face.
The man then went to leave and was sitting inside his car when Olshefski reportedly opened his car door and used one hand to shove his face into the headrest while grabbing prescription medication from his hand.
The caller told deputies Olshefski took the medication before getting into a car he said he had never seen before and driving away. The caller followed behind her in his own vehicle.
Deputies said they found the car with Olshefski inside on Dabney Street. According to reports, deputies found the caller's medication in Olshefski's possession.
During investigations, deputies determined Olshefski had stolen the car she drove away in.
Deputies contacted the registered owners of the car, who said they had left it in an airport hangar and had not given anybody permission to take it.
Olshefski was arrested and is facing one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle, one count of burglary and one count of battery.
According to the arrest report, Olshefski is set to appear in court on Dec. 3 at 8 a.m. for the battery incident and Dec. 9 at 8:30 a.m. for the vehicle theft.
