Police investigating shooting near Frisco Walmart

FRISCO, Texas - Police are investigating a shooting near a Frisco Walmart.

The shooting happened Wednesday around 9 p.m. near the Walmart off of FM 423.

Police only confirmed that they were investigating a shooting. They did not immediately release any information, including any possible victims or if someone is in custody.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting is asked to contact Frisco police.

An arrest report gives more details about what occurred before a man was shot to death Wednesday in the 3200 block of West Edgewood Avenue. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. As the victim's vehicle crossed the intersection, a white vehicle with dark rims was observed on the surveillance video driving south at a high rate of speed on New Kings Road, the arrest report states.

These police officers knew something was wrong before the 911 call came through. Officers from the London Ohio Police Division spotted a child walking alone. As they turned around to follow him, an emergency call came over the radio saying a 5-year-old boy with autism had gone missing. He was floating on his back in creek waters that were 3-feet deep when the officers found him. According to authorities, the boy was taken to a hospital for observation and released.
