Fundraiser Starts For Mom Of Bergen County Teen Who Died In Crash A woman started a fundraiser for her fellow nurse, who just lost her Bergen County-based daughter in a car crash.BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —A fundraiser has begun for the family of the 19-year-old Saddle Brook woman who died early Monday morning when her car hit a bridge.
A car driven by Ciarra Sanchez veered off of I-79 in Upper Saucon, Pa. and hit a concrete bridge pillar around 1:30 a.m., said news reports.
Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still investigating.
Ciarra's mother, Ingred Sanchez, works as a nurse in the at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, said a colleague who started a $10,000 GoFundMe this week.
The coworker wrote, "I am reaching out with a heavy heart to raise funds for the family of Ciarra Sanchez, the beloved 19-year-old daughter of my nursing classmate, coworker, and dear friend, Ingrid Sanchez, who has truly become like family to me.
"...She was a bright and beautiful soul, loved deeply by her family and friends, and her loss has left a profound pain in our hearts. The 7D team joins me in this cause, standing together to support Ciarra's family during this difficult time. Any support you can provide, whether through a donation or by sharing this message, would mean the world. Together, we can honor Ciarra's memory and help her family with the expenses and support they need."
The Behavioral Health team at the hospital thanked donors Thursday with a poem that reads, in part, "For every thought, every generous part,
You've left an indelible mark on each heart. Thank you for surrounding them, near and far, with love that lingers, like Ciarra's star."
The campaign had raised $8,529 by Friday afternoon. The GoFundMe is linked here.
