Georgina Rodriguez admits she was 'so relieved' to leave Manchester for Saudi Arabia with Cristiano Ronaldo as new series of reality Netflix show follows the family's move

Georgina Rodriguez is back on screens with a brand new season of her hit Netflix reality show, I Am Georgina - and this time, the spotlight is on her family's move to Saudi Arabia .

The glamorous model, 30, has returned with a bang, and opened episode one of the newest instalment by admitting she was relieved to leave Manchester behind.

Since meeting her husband, Georgina has followed five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo from Madrid to Turin to Manchester and now Al Nassr.

The family made the move in early 2023 after the football star, 39, signed a record-breaking multi-million dollar contract with the team and left Manchester United .

Now, speaking candidly about her reaction, Georgina said: 'When Cris told me that he'd be playing for Al-Nassr, I was so relieved because I was ready to leave Manchester.

'I knew that something great awaited us and we were very motivated. I was very happy to come to Saudi Arabia.'

She exclaimed 'it all happened so fast' and the couple didn't even have a house to begin with, meaning they had to instead stay in a hotel for a month.

'At first I experienced some ups and downs because we had never lived in a hotel for so long,' the model revealed, 'There were days I didn't want anyone to see me, but overall I was excited.'

Elsewhere in the episode, she went on to praise Real Madrid fans, as she said: 'The fans always chanted Cristiano's name, Cristiano was grateful to hear the chants and see their love for him.

'We know that wherever we go they will continue to cheer him and chant his name as they do today.'

The brand new six-episode series of Georgina's Netflix show returned on September 18, following a two successful previous seasons.

And now, fans are thrilled to be getting an exclusive look into the power couple's transition to life in Saudi Arabia.

Georgina and Ronaldo have been dating since 2016 and they have two children together. She is also the stepmother of his other three children.

The couple famously met while she was working as a retail assistant in Madrid, as they caught eyes across the rails in a Gucci store in 2016.

In 2020, she admitted the chance meeting with Ronaldo made her ' fall in love at first sight '.

She claimed that the feeling was mutual following their encounter as she revealed in a recent interview with Italy's Elle magazine.

Georgina said: 'The first meeting with Ronaldo was at Gucci where I worked as a sales assistant. Days later we saw each other again at another brand's event.

'It was then we could talk in a relaxed atmosphere, outside of my work environment. It was love at first sight for both.'

It comes after the couple recently appeared together on an episode of CR7's new YouTube channel, UR, and their difference of opinion over where their family should be based became evident in a game of 'Mr and Mrs'.

When asked to guess where her partner would like to live in 10 years time, the model and influencer suggested that he was interested in splitting his time between 'Saudi and Portugal'.

Ronaldo, by contrast, was emphatic that Georgina was keen to move back to Madrid, the city where the pair met during his time at Real Madrid .

Revealing their answers to one another, it became clear that both of them had guessed correctly - but the pair offered no further information on which one of them was going to get their way.

Earlier this month, Georgina and Ronaldo put on a very flirtatious display as they relaxed on their superyacht in France.

The couple, who have recently sparked marriage rumours, have been holidaying on their luxury yacht around France.

They have not previously gone public with any marriage ceremony or commented on the rumours.

Despite being tipped to prolong his career for several more years , Ronaldo appears to be winding down his career.

He confirmed during Euro 2024 that it would be his last European Championship.
