Greensburg man sentenced to 13 years after killing woman in 2023 DUI crash

GREENSBURG, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Green County man has pleaded guilty following an investigation into a fatal crash from summer 2023.

On June 24, 2023, Daniel Sidebottom, now 23, was speeding while driving a truck on Kentucky Route 323 under the influence of alcohol, according to Kentucky State Police. Sidebottom failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle.

KSP said the crash left a LaRue County woman dead and five others seriously injured.

Court records show that on Sept. 12, 2024, Sidebottom pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol
  • First-degree assault (three counts)
  • Second-degree assault (two counts)
  • Driving under the influence
  • Possession of marijuana
  • On Nov. 6, Sidebottom was sentenced to 13 years in prison and is being held at the Taylor County Detention Center, according to sentencing records.
