Harrisburg man charged after threatening to shoot hospital staff

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A Harrisburg man was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot the stuff inside Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, according to East Pennsboro Township Police.

Police said officers responded to the hospital at 2:00 a.m. on Sept. 19 for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, the hospital security reported that a man had threatened to shoot staff.

After an investigation, police identified Johnie Zeigler, 45, of Harrisburg, as the suspect.

Zeigler was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Prison, awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Sanderson, per police.

Zeigler was charged with terroristic threats.
