‘Holyhead Santa’ headed to Greystones as town lights up on November 16

The team at Greystones Municipal District, in partnership with a group of dedicated volunteers and the support of An Garda Siochana, have lined up a whole evening of seasonal celebration on Saturday, November 16 as Santa's much-anticipated tour through Greystones starts off in Eden Gate and will conclude with his grand arrival at Burnaby Park.

Local radio presenter Laura Wood will host the magical evening, and Santa will join her to officially switch on the town's Christmas lights, including the iconic giant Christmas tree at the DART station. Rumour has it there may even be a special guest appearance from Mrs Claus to spread even more Christmas joy.

This year's event promises an exceptional line-up of local talent to entertain the crowds, including the Unity choir, Greystones Community National School Choir, St. Laurence's Choir, singer Robbie Doyle, the young East Coast Performers dance troupe, and Junior Eurovision star Abiha Mansoor.

On the same day, the Greystones Tidy Towns' Christmas market at the Harbour Plaza will open, where visitors can explore a range of local crafts, seasonal treats, and Christmas gifts.

Santa route details:

You can catch Santa's parade at various points in Greystones and Delgany, as he makes his way from Eden Gate ,starting at 4.30pm, via Charlesland, past the Rugby club up via Delgany Wood Ave, past Eastmount estate, Seagreen, Waverley and through Blacklion.

From Blacklion, he will pass St Kevin's school and head down to the Christmas Market at Marina Square and the Harbour, around the seafront/La Touche Rd and down the Church Road/Main Street into Burnaby Park to officially switch on the lights.

Alternatively, families can join the crowd in Burnaby Park to await Santa's arrival and enjoy the festive atmosphere, also starting at 4.30pm.
