Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley event will feature pet photos with Santa
The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley will hold its Winter Wonderland Walk and Santa Paws Pet Photos event 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Humane Society's facility at 374 W. Orange Show Road, San Bernardino.
Admission is free.
The event includes photos with Santa, pet contests, Winter Wonderland walking trail, raffles and a vendor village.
There will also be a Pooch Play Area presented by Dances with Dogs Training Center, a station for writing letters to Santa, paw print ornaments, the Humane Society's annual pet supply sale, free carnations from Orange Blossom Florist and more, according to a news release.
Special guests scheduled to appear include master of ceremonies Jeff Pope of "The Jeff Pope Show" on Hot 103.9, with the Hot 103.9 Hot Squad, and pet contest judges Pepper from KFROG 95.1, singer-songwriter and former "The Voice" contestant, Michael Landingham and Ontario Reign mascot Kingston, according to the news release. Adults and children, with or without pets, are welcome in the photos.
Pet contests, beginning at 11 a.m., will include Best Dressed Female, Best Dressed male, Most Holiday Spirit and Best Trick. Entry is $5 per pet.
From 8 to 10:30 a.m., free microchips will be available for 150 pets, with a limit of two per household.
Pets who attend Santa Paws must be nonaggressive and have the appropriate temperament to deal with a crowd. They must also be current on vaccines and on a short, non-retractable leash according to the news release.
Proceeds from the Winter Wonderland Walk and Santa Paws Pet Photos event will help fund the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley's programs.
