Jeanette M. Shellington, age 83, of York, Neb., died on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Lincoln, Neb., surrounded by her family.
She was born to Ernest and Marina (Lindberg) Anderson in Wayne, Neb. on November 5, 1940. On July 11, 1958, Jeanette was united in marriage to Thomas W. Shellington in Wakefield, Neb.
She was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. She enjoyed playing bridge and other card games...and winning! Jeannette loved attending her family's activities and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her son Timothy (Denise) Shellington of York, daughter Jayna (Dennis) Nienhueser of Hickman, grandchildren: Ryan (Kristina) Nienhueser of Tinmath, Colo., and Janae (Andy) Greer and Tara (Trent) Ihde, all of Lincoln, and great-grandchildren Asher, Jayla and Addi Greer of Lincoln, and Ava and Austin Nienhueser of Tinmath.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Dale and Leon.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, York.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the church or to the family for later designation.
