Karen Bernier

March 27, 1945 - October 13, 2024

Karen Marie Bernier was born on March 27, 1945, to Lorraine and Charles Bernier in Cudahy, Wis. After a courageous battle with cancer, Karen went to meet our heavenly father on October 13, 2024, at Saint James Hospital with her sister, Annette; niece, Ashley; and her good friends, Ann and Larry Bachman, by her side.

She worked at St. James Hospital in the lab as a histology technician for many years until she retired.

Karen loved volunteering at the Food Bank and Holy Spirit Church.

She has met numerous friends in her life which she kept close contact with most of them. She was a very caring person and was the first one to offer help for anyone and everyone in need. She was able to live at home these last couple years with the help of her neighbors, Linda Rask and Ashley Moody.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lorraine Bernier; brothers, Bud and Greg Bernier. She is survived by her sisters, Noreen Umemtum, Green Bay, Wis., Annette Barentine (husband, Ken) of Kearns, Utah; niece, Ashley Behunin (husband Tyler); and nephew, Charles Barentine and (wife Jody Jerez).

Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Karen would like all memorials sent to Albert's Angel fund at the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter. Butte, Mont.
