KANSAS CITY, Kan. — One local school has been raising funds for Hurricane Helene relief. But it's in a pretty different way.

Students at Piper Creek Elementary School in Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas on Tuesday nominated teachers to "kiss a cow."

Whichever teacher had earned the most money had to kiss the cow.

It ended up being school counselor Mrs. Crusoe, who really didn't want to kiss the cow. But everyone was proud of the students for the creativity to fundraise money for a good cause.

As the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated in September, hundreds of schools in Lebanon were either destroyed or closed due to damage or security concerns, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Of around 1,250 public schools in Lebanon, 505 schools have also been turned into temporary shelters for some of the 840,000 people internally displaced by the conflict, according to the Lebanese education ministry.
