KCPD hosting free new driver training program in October

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportation is taking a proactive approach to stopping serious wrecks before they happen.

The department is sponsoring a new program later this fall.

The Kansas City Police Department will be hosting the new driver training program in October for all new drivers, soon-to-be drivers and their parents/guardians designed to help reduce serious and deadly crashes involving teens.

There will be three session. To register, see here .

  • October 11 at South Patrol Community Room, Marion Park Drive, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  • October 12 at East Patrol Community Room, 2640 Prospect Avenue, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • October 12, KCPD Regional Police Academy, 6885 NE Pleasant Valley Road, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

    The program uses video, discussion and engaging activities to promote the importance of parents and teens working together to reduce teen roadway crashes.
