King Diamond Cancels Two Canadian Tour Dates With Little Explanation
Danish metal legend King Diamond and his eponymous backing band are chugging along on their North American tou r that kicked off in the middle of last month. With Overkill and Night Demon in tow as support, and Myrkur providing additional vocals, it's a killer lineup that a lot of people are reasonably excited for. Unfortunately, some Canadian fans are going to be left crying into their poutine because the dates on November 20 at the Edmonton Convention Center in Edmonton, AB and the November 21 show at TCU Place in Saskatoon, SK have been mysteriously cancelled.
There's a few things that are really weird about this cancellation, including that fact that the artist hasn't officially announced it or even acknowledged it yet. The announcement was made by one of the venues, TCU Place in Saskatoon, on their Instagram . The announcement read:
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, the upcoming King Diamond shows in Saskatoon and Edmonton have been cancelled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. For those interested in catching King Diamond, their show in Calgary at the Grey Eagle will still take place, and tickets are available at modo-live.com or ticketmaster.com."
Meanwhile, at the time of this writing, the King Diamond social media accounts have stayed oddly silent and the official King Diamond website still lists both of the tour dates . What's even weirder is the fact that TCU was left with the task of announcing the cancellation on behalf of another venue. And then it's even stranger that they cancelled two dates in the middle of the tour on short notice and no other dates around it have been cancelled.
Meanwhile, if you have a ticket to one of the other dates on the tour or are planning to go, those dates seem to still be on. So here's the remaining dates for the rest of the tour:
