"I Got Pictures On My Wall" at Eye For Sound Gallery - Oct. 18-26 Music photographer Greg Watermann exhibits his work featuring many unseen portraits of Grammy-winning Armenian-American metal heavyweights System of A Down at the cafe and gallery owned by SOAD's Serj Tankian in Eagle Rock. Watermann will be on hand for the immersive visual storytelling launch, signing work spanning two decades of the L.A. band. Exclusive signed and numbered prints and merch will be available.

Brittany Howard at the Greek Theatre - Oct 18 Five time Grammy-winning powerhouse singer Brittany Howard, best known for fronting Alabama Shakes, is joined by Michael Kiwanuka for this co-headlining tour. The pair, along with opener Yasmin Williams, are donating $1 per ticket to support housing for mental health resources for people of color, single mothers, and unhoused LGBTQ Youth.

Grand Ave. Arts All Access - Oct. 19 Explore an array of art activities at this open house along Grand Ave. wherein arts and cultural institutions open their doors to visitors for free workshops, performances, tours, and interactive fun. The all-ages, free gathering spotlights local art, music, dance, and literature in Downtown L.A., with participants including Metro Art (pictured), MOCA, the Music Center, Grand Performances, LA Phil, and more.

Sewdown at L.A Fashion Week - Oct. 19 Designer Atousa G and the HER Group bring back the designer's multifaceted Sewdown to conclude Los Angeles Fashion Week. Featuring shopping and a runway presentation by cutting-edge designers, including Atousa's own glam nightlife-inspired namesake line and her sexy A Line Called K , along with brands such as Knight Beauties, Jessica Hoff, FRISKMEGOOD and Azem Couture. A red carpet, DJs, visuals, and an after-party with Marques Wyatt on the decks round out the event. Also, check out Affinity Nightlife's L.A. Freaky Tiki at Secret Island Tiki Lounge - Oct. 19 Tiki enthusiasts will converge in colorful tropical garb, sipping Polynesian cocktails and grooving to surf music at this lively festival in Long Beach. St. Petersburg Russia's Draculina and San Diego spooksters Deadbolt headline along with sets by Shorty's Swingin' Coconuts, The Scimitars, , The Tequila Worms, Sant Anna Bay Coconuts, and Little Kahuna perform and other amusements include a luau buffet, circus performers, go-go girls, and vendors. There's also a sneak preview performance of the tiki-adjacent stage show Shag With A Twist, which premieres the following weekend, Oct 25-26, in Torrance.

PST ART's Culver City Block Party - Oct. 19 Extended gallery hours at the Wende Museum and the nearby Museum of Jurassic Technology are the centerpiece for this block party in conjunction with PST ART: Art & Science Collide. Curator-led tours of each, a themed pop-up from In Sheep's Clothing Hi-Fi featuring a record pop-up, an incense workshop, DJs from NTS Radio, plus food and drinks from Fat + Flour and Honey Kettle are some of the highlights.

Teacup Takeover at Horror Vibes Coffee - Oct. 19-20 This Saturday and Sunday morning, the creepy new Peacock series offers a specialty drink (a dark blue raspberry black tea lemonade with a blue hard candy on top— a nod to a show's plotline) and a chance to win a collectible teacup merch, plus additional giveaway items and photo ops at the horror-themed NoHo hangout.

Joni Mitchell & the Joni Jam - Oct. 19-20 Rock & Rock Hall of Famer, Kennedy Center Honoree, Gershwin-prize winner, and Grammy winner Joni Mitchell comes to the Bowl with Brandi Carlile and the Joni Jam, a sure-to-be an illustrious night of music artists paying homage to the singer/songwriter/guitarist's poetic brilliance. Past featured guests at these jams have included Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan, Marcus Mumford, and Wynonna Judd, to name a few, so expect big stars performing transcendent tunes in an iconic setting.
