Laredo ‘customers may notice a change in odor’ in the water says Sen. Zaffirini amid E. coli concerns

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Texas State Senator Judith Zaffirini shared an update on the boil water notice in Laredo via social media on Thursday, October 17. At around 7:30 a.m., she stated, "Because there were two positive E. coli samples [Wednesday] night, Laredo's Boil Water Notice continues. TCEQ and TDEM continue to collaborate with the city, which will transition from chloramines to free chlorine for at least 60 days. Customers may notice a change in odor." In her follow-up post, Zaffirini noted the ongoing efforts to supply water to residents. "The City of Laredo continues to receive and distribute water to residents. Today TDEM will deliver 4 truckloads; H-E-B, 4; and 4L Distributors, 5." Water distribution sites include:Inner City Park, 202 W. Plum, at 9 a.m. Grace Bible Church, at 9 a.m. Sames Auto Arena, at 4 p.m. Zaffirini also mentioned that another 7 truckloads of water were distributed yesterday, along with 91 home deliveries.
