Las Vegas Lights secure playoff win on penalties against Sacramento Republic FC, 3-2
TheLas Vegas Lights are one step closer to lifting the United Soccer League (USL) Championship trophy following a close win in the first round of playoffs.
The team beat theSacramento Republic FC onpenalties after both teamless went scoreless inregulation onFriday, November 1st.
Coleman Gannon,Grayson Doody, andValentin Noël all successfully scored a goal in penalties for the Lights while goalieRaiko Arozarena was able to block three of five shots.
The win marks the team's first-ever playoff win, as well as their first appearance in the playoffs in franchise history.
The team will now head toAlbuquerque where they will face New Mexico United in the USL semi-finals on Saturday, November 9.
Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. at RGCU Field at Isotopes Park.
