Magic Johnson Relieved About Commanders As He Lauds 23YO Rookie's Record Setting Display vs Bengals

Second win in a line for Magic Johnson's Commanders and one player in particular is gaining major attention. Taking to his X account, the former LA Lakers showed a sense of relief as well, stating "so happy that the big stage on Monday Night was not too much for the Commanders." But all-in-all, his series of posts were about his happiness on the team's second consecutive win. Amid all of this, one dedicated X post, from Buck, also came for the man of the match.

It is Jayden Daniels. If you caught the game, you'd know why. Daniels not only impressed but shattered expectations. Imagine finishing a game with more touchdowns (3) than incompletions (2). That's the kind of performance that sets a rookie apart. Daniels threw for 254 yards, rushed for 39, and completed an astounding 91 percent of his passes, setting a new rookie record.

And Buck highlighted every aspect of this performance in his post. "Jayden Daniels put on a show finishing 21 for 23... He excelled in his Monday Night debut and set a NFL record high completion percentage for a rookie..." he wrote. Who wouldn't be hyped reading that? Not Cincinnati Bengals for sure, as they dropped to 0-3 after Washington handed them a 38-33 upset.

Cincinnati was expected to roll over Washington, but it was Daniels and the Commanders who flipped the script. While the Commanders' defense had its share of issues earlier in the season, it was the Bengals' defense that couldn't keep up.

Meanwhile, in a separate X post, Magic Johnson pointed out the difference between the win for the Commanders this week and their last win against the New York Giants. "The difference tonight from last week is we got in the end zone and scored touchdown," he wrote.
