Milford Hot Dog Joint Lands On 'Bucket List' Of American Fast Food A Milford hot dog restaurant is considered the best fast food in the state and ranked high on a new national list.

MILFORD, CT — A local restaurant specializing in hot dogs has made a national list. Dogtown in Milford was named the state's representative in MSN's "bucket list" of fast food restaurants.

The United States is the birthplace of the fast food restaurant and many of the world's biggest fast food chains. With that in mind, the website hunted down the best burger joints, hot dog stands, pizza places, and taco spots across the country.

"You'll find fast food in most corners of the world but perhaps nowhere does it better than America," MSN wrote.

Dogtown ranked high on the list at No. 10 in the country. The hot dog joint got points for its "speedy service, quality ingredients, and wide range of dogs and toppings available."

"Diners can either get a 'freestyle' hot dog and customize it with their choice of extras or leave it to the pros and grab a 'tricked out' dog from the specialty menu, which features hearty options such as chili, bacon, and coleslaw–topped Mongo," MSN wrote. "On the side, go for crispy tater tots loaded with blue cheese, buffalo sauce, and scallions."

The list was compiled through user reviews, awards, accolades, and the first-hand experience of the MSN team.

Dogtown started out in a 10-ft. Chevy step van.

"The idea was to make a food truck that actually did what other food trucks have forgotten to do; give you something that you can grab and devour while on the go," according to the restaurant's website .

The "doghouse" at 664 New Haven Ave. opened in 2017. It's open daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
