Milton's Aftermath: Operation Blue Roof Program extends to Palm Beach and Martin counties

Palm Beach and Martin counties are now eligible for the on Thursday.

Following Hurricane Milton's impact across the state of Florida, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) said it's tasked by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assist eligible homeowners with temporary roof repairs. The Operation Blue Roof Program provides temporary blue covering with fiber-reinforced sheeting to help reduce further damage to property until permanent repairs can be made.

Additionally, Flagler County was the third to be introduced into the program Thursday.

  • St. Lucie
  • The USACE said the initial sign-up period is set for 21 days and ends November 5. Residents who were impacted can sign up for this service at the USACE or by calling.

    Operation Blue Roof will remove tarps and minor debris from homeowners' roofs to ensure proper installation. Homeowners must remove any large debris, like trees, from the roof to qualify for the program.
