NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Fall-like dry weather is dominating most of the region as despite the chilly start, it will be a warmer afternoon. It's rain-free with very clear skies, calm winds, and relatively drier air, allowing for the higher elevations to start of below freezing, while everywhere else is ranging from the 30s to the low 60s.

  • Don't Miss: First violin played in space made at shop in Albuquerque

  • News: Report card shows which NM agencies are doing well and which are struggling

  • Crime: Trailer stolen on side of I-25 in Albuquerque along with ATV and elk meat

  • Despite the cooler-than-normal start for many, conditions warm up near normal as temperatures mostly will rise across the region from the morning school commute into the 60s, 70s, and 80s by the afternoon. Any showers that do form will be very spotty in The Northern Mountains with just enough-lingering moisture to produce a little bit of rain there, but elsewhere will remain mostly sunny and dry.

With last week's storm system still meandering to the east, clear skies with higher pressure aloft will develop to the west, allowing for only very spotty rainfall across New Mexico ahead with higher temperatures and even drier air.
