MOVE America, an annual event that connects multiple sectors of the mobility ecosystem, will take place in Detroit for the first time after being in Austin, Texas, the last five years.

Huntington Place in downtown Detroit will host the event from Sept 24-25, 2025. It will include a focus on technology, business models, and sustainable futures as well as offer notable speakers, networking opportunities, and panel discussions.

The event spent its first five years in Austin, and this year it drew 5,000 attendees and more than 150 exhibitors. There were 600 speakers, 300 startups, 28 conference stages, and multiple roundtables.

In addition to covering EVs, autonomous vehicles, battery tech, and energy and charging, the event will examine the latest in smart cities and infrastructure, micromobility, smart traffic, payments, connectivity, eVTOL and UAV, smart parking, and alternative fuels.

"MOVE is a community committed to the transformation of mobility," says Emma-Jane Dinan, general manager of MOVE, which is owned by Terrapinn, a global events company based in London.

"Our mission is to empower individuals to innovate, forge partnerships, and drive positive and sustainable change in a complex mobility ecosystem. Advancing future mobility in legacy verticals is a big part of what MOVE is about, and there is no better place to do this than the global epicenter of mobility."

Claude Molinari, CEO of Visit Detroit, says: "Detroit is home to the worldâ€TMs No. 1 emerging startup ecosystem, North Americaâ€TMs first EV charging road, an unmatched culinary scene, and the birthplace of five genres of music. There has never been a more exciting time to welcome MOVE to the Motor City."

Dinan adds MOVE will tap into metro Detroitâ€TMs diverse supplier base and entrepreneurial network as well as the regionâ€TMs leadership in automotive manufacturing and growing strength in innovative mobility technologies.

Attendees include automotive OEMs, fleet and transport operators, autonomous vehicle experts, battery manufacturers, charge point operators, and cities and governments. Past participants include Sony, May Mobility, Cruise, Uber, Waymo, Tesla, J.P. Morgan, Lyft, Amazon, GM, Ikea, Penske, and more.
