Burger King is considering three new Whopper flavors, including one created by a Nebraskan.

The restaurant launched its Million Dollar Whopper Contest in February, offering the winner $1 million and a chance to see their dream Whoppers sold in stores for a limited time.

On Monday, Burger King announced the three finalists from more than one million submissions:

* The Mexican Street Corn Whopper, created by Kelsie of Nebraska, which features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, Southwest seasoned tortilla crisps and Mexican spicy queso. A Burger King spokesperson said that due to privacy concerns, the company would not release any other identifying information about the finalists, including a last name or hometown.

* The Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, created by Fabian of California, features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon and Swiss cheese.

* The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, created by Calvin of California, which features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions & jalapeños, maple bacon seasoning, bacon and American cheese.

"The Million Dollar Whopper Contest was all about taking 'Have It Your Way' to the next level, and we were blown away by the thought and creativity that went into the Whopper creations that were submitted," Pat O'Toole, chief marketing officer of Burger King North America, said in a news release. "Selecting just three finalists was no easy task, but we're confident guests will love these creative delicious takes on the iconic Whopper sandwich, and can't wait for them to be available in restaurants this fall."

Burger King said additional details regarding the availability of the three Million Dollar Whopper sandwiches and how customers can help crown the $1 million winner will be available in mid-November.
