Williamsport, Pa. — A new Christian congregation, Common Places Church Newberry, will have its very first gathering on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at the West End Christian Community Center.

The congregation, led by head pastor Gerry Peña, is an offshoot of Common Place churches in Lock Haven . Common Place exists to launch new churches in common places throughout the region. Other Common Place locations include Piper Aviation Museum and Avenue 209 Coffee House.

The West End Christian Community Center is located at 901 Diamond St., Newberry.

Pastor Gerry Peña commented: "We are excited about welcoming in people from our neighborhoods. People are at the center of our mission. We believe Jesus loves every person in Newberry and the surrounding area; we are excited to invite them into authentic relationships that allow them to grow emotionally and spiritually."

Pastor Peña added, "During our gatherings we invite everyone to connect through modern worship songs, fun and engaging kids' ministry, coffee, and conversations that lead us all closer to Jesus. We will share relatable messages from the Bible that help answer some of life's biggest questions and explore our faith."
