New York City’s Upper West Side Unveils Shoppable Turnkey Apartments

B.Lee28 min ago

Taking furnished living to the next level, home goods boutique L'Objet and award-winning interior design company frenchCALIFORNIA have come together to bring the first-ever shoppable residence.

Located at the prestigious 212 West 72nd Street in Manhattan's Upper West Side neighborhood, the model apartment brings together a special curation of furniture, accessories and artwork that both residents and non-residents are able to shop.

Guillaume Coutheillas, Founder & Creative Director of frenchCALIFORNIA, took the lead on designing the project, and his goal was to "design an elevated living experience that merges the classic elegance of the Upper West Side with a warm, modern sophistication."

"We achieved this by thoughtfully curating vintage pieces from my personal collection, alongside iconic designs from L'Objet, creating a space that balances timeless beauty with everyday functionality," Coutheillas said. "We took full advantage of the home's light-filled rooms, expansive size, and stunning views, allowing for a truly luxurious yet practical living experience. The process of working on 212 West 72nd Street has been very rewarding, as we've aligned our aesthetic vision with the building's incredible architectural features and sweeping views."

Coutheillas and the team worked to showcase the beauty of Turnkey living, removing the stresses and strains of designing a home from scratch with little prior experience or time commitment.

Items displayed available to purchase from the shoppable apartment include L'Objet's fan-favorite accessories as well as frenchCALIFORNIA's Vintage Collection of furniture pieces, contemporary artwork sourced from NAVA Contemporary and a palette of custom designed paint colors available exclusively through frenchCALIFORNIA. However, it's worth noting that while many of the curated pieces featured in the residence are available for purchase, some furniture may be reserved exclusively for turnkey buyers.

For prospective buyers, the curated spaces can be purchased as is or there is also the opportunity to work alongside frenchCALIFORNIA for a custom tailored design that can still include some elements of the shoppable space. Residents will have first access to the collections through frenchCALIFORNIA's design concierge, with non-residents being able to purchase products through a dedicated email address. L'Objet items can be purchased directly through their website, at their Manhattan boutique, or at Bergdorf Goodman.

The turnkey apartments start at $6,495,000, and the price varies on the size of the residence and the level of customization. Of course, for the homebuyers who would rather take the reigns on the creative direction, unfurnished units are available, starting at $3,495,000.

"We're thrilled to unveil this exceptional model residence at 212 West 72nd Street," John Tashjian, Managing Member of Centurion Property Investors, said. "frenchCALIFORNIA brought a likeminded approach to our vision for this distinct building and created a design that will resonate with our buyers. The model is a terrific showcase of the opportunity for gracious, cosmopolitan living in the largest residences at 212 West 72nd Street."
