WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The No. 8 Baylor men's basketball team secured its first win of the season after beating No. 16 Arkansas 72-67.

Coming off the shocking blowout loss to No. 6 Gonzaga, the Bears looked to find their footing early in the season against the Razorbacks.

After a back-and-forth game early, the Bears started to pull away midway through the first half and went into halftime with a 42-33 lead over the Razorbacks.

Determined to get back into the game, the Razorbacks started the second half on an 11-2 run to tie the game at 44-44 before Baylor head coach Scott Drew called a timeout.

Following the timeout, Baylor would get back into a grove and go on a 17-6 run to take back control of the game.

Arkansas made a late-game push for the lead but came up short, getting the Bears their first win of the season.

Baylor's Jayden Nunn led the team scoring 16 points and Norchad Omier finished with a double-double going for 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Baylor prepares for Sam Houston State University coming to town on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
