Connecticut State Police honor father, son for drug dealer’s arrest

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A father and his son were honored on Tuesday for their role in arresting a suspected drug dealer who sped through a work zone and almost crashed into a construction crew.

Both are state troopers. Sgt. Robert Zdrojeski and his son, Trooper Preston Zdrojeski received the Medal for Meritorious Service for the September arrest.

State police said the duo saved "countless lives."

They received the Medal for Outstanding Service last spring after arresting a driver who escaped other troopers multiple times.

Former U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, a New York Republican who resigned from Congress following a tax fraud conviction, is paralyzed from the chest down after being thrown from a horse during a polo tournament, according to friends who are raising funds to pay for the ex-lawmaker's medical care. Grimm, 54, suffered the devastating injury in September and is now being treated at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey, where the late actor Christopher Reeve was treated after a similar equestrian accident in 1995, according to Vincent Ignizio, a friend of Grimm's who is a former New York City Council member. "It was a passion of his and he suffered a tragic accident at the end of September," said Ignizio, who has set up a GoFundMe account to pay for Grimm's medical care.

It's shocking video of an elderly man being throw to the ground and handcuffed during a traffic stop. Video of the exchange between the officer and driver involved in the traffic sop was released by police. The Oklahoma City Police Department has since put the officer on administrative leave pending an internal investigation into what happened saying in a statement "there was a use of force." An eagled-eyed husband and wife were sailing in Hawaii when they spotted mysterious objects in the distance. Camila and Ryan Sullivan found five scuba divers drifting at sea. They told their rescuers that they were on a diving excursion. When they surfaced, they realized that they drifted away and their dive boat was nowhere to be found.
