Norfolk man caught with meth in home, vehicle sentenced to prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Norfolk man who was caught with meth inside his vehicle and home was sentenced in federal court on Thursday. U.S. District Judge Brian Buescher sentenced Mick Hausmann, 55, to 11 years and three months in prison for possessing with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine. There is no parole in the federal system. After his release from prison, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release. On April 3, the Nebraska State Patrol pulled over a vehicle that Hausmann was driving. Troopers found a glass meth pipe on a passenger, and searched the vehicle. A bag containing 32 grams of meth was found in the center console. U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr said troopers obtained a search warrant for Hausmann's home and found more than 1,200 grams of pure meth. This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
