NYS 8th Senate District Preview: Alexis Weik Vs. Francis Dolan Incumbent Republican Sen. Alexis Weik will be challenged by Democrat Francis Dolan in the 8th Senate District.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's 8th Senate District will see an incumbent challenged as they head to the polls on Nov. 5.

The candidates:

  • Alexis Weik (Republican)
  • Francis Dolan (Democrat)

    • Incumbent Alexis Weik, of Sayville, was first elected in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022 with 69.3 percent of the vote, according to Ballotpedia .

    Dolan did not respond to Patch's questionnaire.

    Communities in the 8th Senate District includes portions of Long Island from Sayville to Massapequa.
