Overturned Semi-Truck Causes 5-Hour Traffic Delay In Winter Haven: Polk County Sheriff
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A semi-truck accident is causing significant traffic backups in Winter Haven, Florida, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Around 1:30 PM today, a semi-truck carrying a large concrete barrier overturned while making a right turn at the intersection of Thornhill Road and Winter Lake Road. The barrier spilled into the roadway, blocking traffic.
The eastbound lanes of Winter Lake Road are completely closed as crews work to remove the barrier with a crane. Drivers are experiencing delays of up to 5 hours or more.
Motorists are strongly urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
