DALLAS — Planning to be out and about in Dallas this weekend? You should expect delays as all eastbound lanes of a portion of I-20 will be closed for construction.

All lanes of eastbound I-20 will be closed and detoured between Cockrell Hill Road and S. Hampton Road from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

All lanes of Kirnwood Boulevard and Westmoreland Road will also be closed between the east and westbound I-20 frontage roads during this time.

"Delays can be expected, and drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this corridor," TXDOT said in a statement.

The construction project is expected to be finished in 2025, weather permitting, according to TXDOT.
