Ozark man killed in Birmingham, one arrested

OZARK, Ala (WDHN) — An arrest has been made in the central Alabama murder of an Ozark man earlier this month.

The victim was identified as 20-year-old Paul Devaried Terry Jr. of Ozark.

According to Birmingham Police, on Friday, October 11, officers responded to the 8200 Block of 4th Avenue in the Eastlake Community in Birmingham on reports that a man had been shot. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim, Terry Jr., had run into a nearby shed next to Eastlake Park.

Terry Jr. was found collapsed in the shed and pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

Police say after a lengthy investigation, 27-year-old Anthony Rudolfo Major of Birmingham was arrested and charged with one count of murder on October 16.

A release from the BPD claims Major shot Terry Jr. after a verbal altercation outside of a home in the 8200 Block of 4th Avenue.

Majors is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
