Patchy fog this morning; overcast with a few breaks of sun through the weekend
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Friday morning! Ending the week again overcast, mild and muggy as you start your Friday. Watch out for patchy areas of fog this morning as you head out the door. Best chances for fog will be across our eastern Georgia counties and areas to the north.
Similar forecast from yesterday with overcast skies and just a few breaks in the clouds (if we get them) by the afternoon. Afternoon high temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s.
Weekend forecast will see the 'wedge' build across northeast Georgia helping to keep the clouds across the region. For that we have kept mostly cloudy to overcast skies in the forecast along with a spotty light shower possible. Especially Sunday as there seems to be a better chance as a front moves in from the west.
Front clears throughout the day Monday on Veterans Day with improvement expected by Tuesday with more sunshine and more seasonal temperatures. Brief relief from the humid, tropical weather pattern until a stronger front arrives by the end of next week.
Rafael continues to move across the Gulf of Mexico as a major hurricane; however, the good news for the gulf coast is that the storm will not make landfall along the coast. Rough surf will be expected as the storm continues to move westward. The forecast track weakens the storm and does a loop before turning southward towards Mexico.
