Pedestrian struck and killed in Jefferson County

A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday evening while crossing a road in the town of Farmington, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported.
The pedestrian was crossing in the N6300 block of Coffee Road at around 5:36 p.m. when the person was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said.
The sheriff's office and the Johnson Creek Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
