Pittsburgh Steelers rule out six players, including promising rookie

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers have revealed their Week 3 inactives, and key starter Isaac Seumalo is among them. Seumalo is out for the third straight week with a pectoral injury. Spencer Anderson will get his third straight start for the Steelers.

Rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson is a surprise inactive. He missed seven weeks with a high ankle sprain and will not make his NFL debut. Instead, the Steelers will work with four wide receivers rather than play Wilson.

With cornerback James Pierre elevated from the practice squad for special teams, Darius Rush is inactive. This will be Rush's first game not playing at gunner. Scotty Miller will be the other gunner.

  • BETTING:
  • Terrell Edmunds is inactive for the second straight game. Jalen Elliott will be active for the first time this season and could provide a special teams boost with special teams ace Tyler Matakevich out for four games with a hamstring injury.

Quarterback Russell Wilson is the emergency third quarterback. He will remain on the sidelines unless Justin Fields and Kyle Allen get injured.

Tight end MyCole Pruitt is sidelined with a knee injury. Pruitt will miss his first game of the season, but tight end Rodney Williams, who was elevated from the practice squad, will see time there in his place.
