PLAINS TWP. – Township police reported the following:
• Police said they arrested Hector Castro, 24, of North Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, on evidence of drunken driving after a traffic stop for speeding on South Main Street just before 2 a.m. Thursday. Castro displayed signs of impairment and failed a field sobriety test, police said.
Police further said Castro’s driver’s license was suspended.
• Gerald Dudeck, of Elizabeth Street, reported a window on his vehicle was smashed Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
• Michele Bowen, of East Mountain Ridge Trailer park, reported two windows were smashed on her vehicle Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
PLAINS TWP. – State police gaming enforcement office at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs casino said Dustin Singleton, 33, of Texas, was cited with harassment after he allegedly grabbed a man around a neck during an argument at a roulette table at 11:56 p.m. on Feb. 25.
WEST PITTSTON – Police are investigating a robbery at Penn Mart, 301 Wyoming Ave., Thursday night.
Police said a white male in his mid-30s entered the store and demanded money and Marlboro Light cigarettes just before 8 p.m.
The man kept his hand in a pocket acting as if he had a firearm, police said.
Police said the man fled the store and was last seen running on Luzerne Avenue toward the Water Street Bridge.
The man is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall,180 to 200 pounds, dark hair, brown eyes and acne scars on his face. He wore a black and tan flannel jacket that was pulled up over his head and had a black scarf covering his face.
Police said the man got away with a small amount of cash and five packs of cigarettes.
Anyone with information about the man and robbery is asked to call 911.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
• Sandi Answini of 29 W. Sidney St. reported Friday money was stolen from her residence during a burglary.
• Elizabeth Hollinger reported Thursday a Pennsylvania license plate HJG-6017 was stolen from her vehicle parked at 110 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
• Timothy Dormans of 125 Darling St. reported Thursday the front passenger side window of his 2011 Jeep Liberty was smashed.
• Peter Top of Davis Place was charged with public drunkenness early Thursday outside the Hardware Bar at 12 S. Main St. He refused to leave when he was denied entrance to the bar around 3:10 a.m. He was arrested, taken to police headquarters and released into the custody of a sober adult.
• Clarke Freeman, 20, was charged with underage drinking and public drunkenness after he was found unresponsive outside a building at 79 W. Northampton St. around 1 a.m. Friday. City medics revived him and transported him to a local hospital. Freeman was identified through his driver’s license and occupants of the building.
• Skyler Williams and Kalin Parker, both of Wilkes-Barre, were charged with public drunkenness after they were separated from each other during an argument outside Mulligan’s Irish Pub at 41 S. Main St. around 2:25 a.m. They were arrested, taken to police headquarters and held until they were sober because they could not contact sober adults to take custody of them.
HAZLETON – Police investigated a three vehicle crash Friday afternoon on West 15th Street.
A 2004 Volvo driven by Matthew Janeczek of McAdoo struck a 2001 Chevrolet driven by Matthew Borchick, also of McAdoo, which then hit a 2003 Ford driven by Lamar Shafer of West Hazleton around 3:55 p.m. Shafer complained of back pain but refused medical treatment.
