Porter County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested for DWI

VALPARAISO, Ind. – A Porter County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested early Saturday morning for driving while intoxicated.

The Porter County Sheriff's Office said shortly before 2:30 a.m., a Valparaiso police officer pulled over a 2016 Jeep SUV in the area of U.S. Highway 30/County Road 250 West in Center Township. The officer then found probable cause that the driver of the Jeep, identified as Corporal Robert Gosbin of the VPD, was operating while intoxicated.

Police search for hit-and-run driver who killed man in Garfield Park

Gosbin was immediately placed on administrative leave and an internal investigation has begun, according to officials.

Authorities said Gosbin had served on the Porter County Sheriff's Office for 17 years.
