Rain, cooler temperatures could round out the week

A chance of rain will round out the rest of the week in the Wyoming Valley, along with some cooler temperatures.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 48 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly sunny skies kicking off the day.

Sunny skies will stick around today, with a high near 70 degrees. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 46 degrees.

Partly sunny skies will return on Thursday, but there will be a 40 percent chance of showers after 9 a.m. Thursday’s high will be near 66 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow on Thursday night, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The night’s low will be around 46 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, with a 30 percent chance of showers possible. Friday’s high will be near 60 degrees.

Those mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a 20 percent chance of showers. Friday night’s low will be around 44 degrees.
