Rain possible as the Wyoming Valley enters the weekend

Rain could dampen the Wyoming Valley this weekend, but temperatures are not anticipated to cool dramatically.

In fact, they are predicted to break the 70-degree mark.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 50 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with partly cloudy skies kicking off the day.

Partly sunny skies will stick around today, with a high near 67 degrees. There will be a slight chance of showers before 8 p.m. and after 1 a.m. tonight, with mostly cloudy skies expected otherwise. Tonight’s low will be around 46 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies will kick off the day on Friday, along with a chance after showers after noon. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, and Friday’s high will be near 62 degrees.

A slight chance of showers is also predicted before midnight on Friday night, along with a low near 45 degrees.

Partly sunny skies will return on Saturday, along with a slight chance of showers. Saturday’s high will be near 68 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Saturday night, with a low around 47 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 73 degrees. Clear skies will follow into Sunday night, with a low around 50 degrees.
