TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Temperatures climb quickly today, and highs reach the upper 80s. Many places may reach record heat. The record in Tampa for today is 88 degrees. Humidity comes down slightly in the afternoon, but it will still feel quite warm in the sunshine.

Rain chances remain slight at just 10% today and tomorrow. We may see a couple more showers Sunday as humidity begins to climb again.

Watch for a few more downpours Monday, and it remains warm and humid for Veterans Day.

We are seeing signs of a cold front passing next Thursday. It should bring a round of rain and finally some fall temperatures.

Hurricane Rafael continues to be well-organized in the central Gulf of Mexico. It's heading west and should eventually weaken as it drifts south.
