Reese Witherspoon looked like she was ready to step into Elle Woods' shoes at the Shine Away conference event in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The Morning Show star, 48, looked phenomenal in a short-sleeved pale pink dress that was belted at her trim waist and featured buttons down the front and pockets on the skirt.

The dress fell to just below her knees and she wore her long blonde hair parted in the middle and falling down her torso in loose waves.

The Pleasantville star opened up about her early days in Hollywood during the panel with her best friend Laura Dern , 57, and Octavia Spencer , 54.

During the panel, Reese opened up about her early days of producing and the difficult road it was even after having success in films like The Man in the Moon and Election and a guest starring role on Friends.

During the panel Reese talked about her early days in producing and how she wasn't taken seriously.

She started Hello Sunshine when she was 34 and admitted she didn't know what she was doing.

The Sweet Home Alabama star said she spent her first 20 years in Hollywood just trying to get jobs.

'I didn't have time to look at the bigger macro, like, what is our business? How are they making money? Wait, why are there no parts for women? Wait, why am I not seeing any people of color behind the scenes?,' she said per The Hollywood Reporter.

'Like, why am I not seeing any writers who are bringing a different perspective? And that's what made me think,' she said.

'When I was 34 I had enough foundation under myself, inside our business; I also had enough money to help start funding, and I was like, I'm not going to take money from people who don't want the change that I want to see,' she added.

'It was scary because I didn't know if I was going to get my money back. Every day I woke up thinking, "Oh my god, I'm not gonna get my money back."

'But I would rather bet on myself and lose that money trying hard. I woke up every single day and I was like, 'I am my own lottery ticket,' she said.

Reese has produced a ton of hits over the years, starting with optioning the rights to Gone Girl and Wild in 2014.

And it was on Wild that the Water for Elephants star met her bestie. During the panel Dern admitted that she doesn't make a move without consulting Reese.

'Basically I run everything by Reese,' the Oscar winner revealed of her reliance on the multi-hyphenate , adding she sought advice for everything 'From my romantic life all the way to what jobs I should do.'

The conversation turned that way after the panel guests — which included Witherspoon, 48, and Spencer, 54 — were asked about (female) networks the Jurassic Park star has cultivated through her long career.

Dern is the daughter of actors Bruce Dern, 88, and Diane Ladd, 88.

'What I learned from the four or five women who raised me who were actresses, who then became writers or producers or directors, was that there was no community, there was no inside without each other,' she explained.

'And that sisterhood drove them,' she added.

'Jane Fonda being one, along with my mother and an amazing group of women who decided they had to be the storytellers to be in the story at all, and they are true pioneers that led us to understand that.'

The Big Little Lies star added, 'So I felt so lucky to have that lens and then to find sisterhood on this stage.'

The pals became close friends when they were making 2014's Wild.

Dern played Witherspoon's mother in the drama based on Cheryl Strayed's book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail'

The two often share photos of their adventures together on social media, whether it's getting a coffee or going to an awards show.

The pair are expected to work together, eventually, on Big Little Lies season three.

The show is a fan favorite, but the problem seems to be finding a time when all the main cast members which include Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz and Shailene Woodley are available.

'We're moving fast and furious, Kidman told Vanity Fair in an interview with Witherspoon published in June.

'Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. We're in good shape,' she claimed.

Until then Witherspoon and Dern both have plenty of projects to keep them busy in front of and behind the camera.
