Voters re-elect Montgomery-Rocky Hill board of education incumbents Maria Spina and Patrick Todd. They are decisively ahead of their competition by more than than 600 votes — the number of ballots left to be counted by the Somerset County Clerk's Office as of today.

Spina, the current vice president of the school board, was the top vote-getter, with 5,245 votes as of noon. She is 837 votes ahead of her closest challenger. She is a math specialist with the New Brunswick Public School District, and she lives in Rocky Hill.

Todd, the school board president, garnered 5,112 votes, putting him 704 votes ahead of his closest challenger. Todd is the associate director of test security for The College Board, and he lives in Skillman.

Board President Patrick Todd and VP Maria Spina will retain their seats on the Montgomery-Rocky Hill School Board. Teammate Ting Wang is likely to win the 3rd seat.

Their teammate Ting Wang (4,892 votes) has increased her lead over challenger John A. Sangiovanni III to 484 votes. While it is technically possible that Sangiovanni (4,408 votes) could still win, he would need to collect at least 80% of remaining 600 uncounted ballots. The Montgomery News is hesitant to call Wang the definitive winner until more votes are counted.

Candidate John Sangiovanni III is still hanging in there. However, he would need to secure at least 80% of the remaining ballots.

Wang was ahead of challenger Jaideep Karan Mathur by 809 votes, which puts Mathur out the race.

So far, the clerk's office has counted 12,684 votes in the school board race, with about 600 mail-in and provisional ballots left to be counted.

Results from the Somerset County Clerk's office as of November 11 at noon.
